1099 and Small Business Owners Beware!

1099 and Small Business Owners Beware!

The IRS has been complaining of cut backs and being short staffed for years. For the first time in years, they “found” some money in the budget. Due to workers ageing out of the system and other departures, John Koskinen, IRS Commissioner, states they now have the funds in their budget to hire 700 new employees.

What does this mean for me?

Well if you’re not in collections and not a w2 employee, maybe nothing. These new hires will report for work in the next few weeks and will be tasked with collecting from 1099 employees as well as small business owners. If this describes you and you were flying beneath the radar before, it’s time to get serious.

The Bottom Line

Now is the best time to settle your IRS as well as State liabilities. I always say it is better to be proactive rather than reactive. Take control of your IRS problems today!

The government is making deals with taxpayers just like you EVERY DAY! Additionally, if you are an unfiled 1099 or small business owner, IRS will be pushing hard to enforce your compliance. Don’t wait any longer – IRS PROBLEMS DO NOT SOLVE THEMSELVES.
